Springdale Downtown Runaround

springdale downtown runaround, jones center, pool, ice, swimming, gymnastics, 5k, 10k, race

Finally. It’s Springdale’s day.

October 8, 2016. It’s finally this city’s chance to host a regional race that will be a premier 5k and 10k in Northwest Arkansas.

The conception of the Downtown Runaround began with an idea to bring a race to downtown Springdale that could showcase the best parts of downtown- the Razorback Greenway trail, Shiloh Square, local flavor, and The Jones Center. The Jones Center and Camp War Eagle staffs have crafted this race to be unique, fun, and affordable.

The race starts right outside the Center near the Emma Ave. trailhead to the Razorback Greenway. After the starting whistle, runners will go across Emma to follow the trail south parallel to the airport. This part of the race stays along the trail for a while until the competitors cut back to downtown Springdale.

The final stretch of the race ends on the iconic street that has been the centerpiece of Springdale for so many years, Emma Avenue. Runners will head down Emma to finish back where they started to a roaring crowd and the afterparty. Camp War Eagle has created the most epic inflatable afterparty of all time, so while the kids are enjoying jumping, the runners can enjoy delicious fruit and breakfast burritos to celebrate a successful race.

Thank You to Law Enforcement and Their Families

police, jones center, free swimming, pool access, law enforcement

A simple thank you. That's all we want to give to the men and women who put their lives on the line for the citizens of Northwest Arkansas every day.

The best way we thought to support our law enforcement was to give them and their families a whole week of free pool access. From August 1-7, all law enforcement and their families can swim for free at The Jones Center during public pool hours

Share this blog with a family member of someone you know in law enforcement. #JCfresh
