The University of Wonder & Imagination is coming to FamJam, and students of all ages and magical abilities are invited to enroll!

Meet Professor Bamberg! He and other distinguished lecturers will lead you through a series of problems and puzzles on subjects like math, space and art… and your input will help shape this unique experience.

Join us at this most unusual university on a journey to discovery! Live actors, magic, multimedia technology and audience participation blend for an afternoon that will boggle your mind and spark your imagination.

The University of Wonder & Imagination is great for kids & families! Tickets are $10 per person and include free access to FamJam at The Jones Center.

A Cahoots Production

The University of Wonder & Imagination is a production of Cahoots of Belfast, Northern Ireland, the makers of Danny Carmo’s Mathematical Mysteries, Lights! Camera! Math!, Penguins, Secrets of Space, Shh! We Have a Plan and Egg.

The production first premiered as a ground breaking international “Zoom” performance in fall 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In January, the show launched a 22-venue tour in across the U.S. with a stop at The Jones Center!

Cast

Gary Crossan is an actor, writer and theatre maker from Derry City. After studying English and Drama at Queen’s University he attended the Lyric Drama studio and soon after began a professional career in the arts in Northern Ireland. As an actor he has performed at The Lyric Theatre, The MAC, The Abbey Theatre and toured nationally and internationally. Gary’s writing credits include: Cinderella (GBL Productions, Waterfront Hall); Curtains (Replay Theatre, Eastside Arts Festival); Bad Ground (Lyric Theatre, Listen at the Lyric audio series); The Waiting Room (Tinderbox, online 4- part series) and is one third of comedy writing trio Scampi, Chips & Tartar Sauce. Previous credits with Cahoots include The Assistant’s Revenge and Danny Carmo’s Mathematical Mysteries.

Declan King is a theatre maker from Dublin, based in Belfast. He has worked with leading theatre companies across Ireland and the U.K. as an actor, devisor, director, facilitator and stage manager. Declan's own work focuses on improvisation and physical theatre using the principles of Open Space. Declan has devised and directed several pieces including Rumble In The Ensemble (Smock Alley Theatre) and The Rehearsal Room (Accidental Theatre). Previous credits with Cahoots include The Ghost House, Cinderella: The Midnight Princess and Santa’s Secret Showdown.

Catriona McFeely is an actor and singer from Derry, based in Belfast. She studied Acting at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama. Theatre credits include Not on our Watch and The Shedding of Skin (Kabosh Theatre Company), Hansel and Gretel, Rough Girls, A Walk Is Not A Walk and Blackout (Lyric Theatre), Cinderella (The MAC), Secrets of Space (Cahoots NI), Teechers (Bruiser Theatre Company), Prism, Dancing at the Disco at the End of the World, Tribe, Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, Closer and Snoozle & The Lullbugs (Replay Theatre Company), Dear World (Big Telly), Cinderella and The Frozen Princess (GBL Productions), Tangled (Cre:8 Theatre), Date Show (Three’s Theatre), The Man of Mode (Derby Live), The Pacifists Guide to the War on Cancer - Workshop (National Theatre), La Ronde (Cue Productions), and Playboy of the Western World, An Apple A Day and An Englishman Walks into an Irish Bar (London Irish Rep Theatre).
