Red Cross Lifeguard CERTIFICATION

overview
Through classroom learning and hands-on practice, students will learn surveillance skills, rescue skills, first aid training, and professional rescuer CPR. Classes are certified through the American Red Cross. Lifeguard job openings at The Jones Center are available for those who successfully complete the class.
Prerequisite Requirements
Participants must be able to swim 300 yards continuously using freestyle (front crawl) or breaststroke technique.
Participants must be able to tread water for two minutes using only their legs.
Participants must be able to retrieve 10lb item from a depth of 7-10 feet.
DETAILS
Training is held over three days and taught in a blended-learning format. Participants will be required to finish all prerequisite learning materials online prior to certification training. Graduates will be eligible for lifeguard positions at The Jones Center.
