Soak up the summer vibes when Summer in the City returns for kids, families and the entire community. Summer in the City brings themed events to The Jones Center’s outdoor campus in June, July & September.
Make a splash at our Splash Bash community block party, or share stories and smores around the campfire with friends and neighbors. Team up for double the fun at the Obstacle Runaround – and prepare to get muddy!

obstacle runaround / June 15, 2024
Kids and adults team up for a morning of fun — and mud — at the 2024 Obstacle Runaround. The Obstacle Runaround is an obstacle race that grown-ups and kids conquer together. Teams of two will navigate 10+ obstacles on the course, including a mud pit, a tire run, the noodle forest, a sandy army crawl and more. Wear your brightest, most colorful clothes – costumes are welcome. Prepare to get dirty. The team who has the most fun wins!

splash bash / July 13, 2024
Are you ready to beat the heat and have fun in the sun?! Join us for Splash Bash, a pop-up water park experience at The Jones Center's outdoor campus. Enjoy inflatable water slides, water balloons, games and activities, a Capture the Flag competition, a giant slip-n-slide, music and dancing – plus a Toddlers Zone for the little ones.

COST: $10 per person, includes a day-pass to pools; members receive 20% off

Other details: Inflatables and games will be ongoing. Lawn chairs are recommended. Concessions will be available for purchase.
Community Campout / September 7-8, 2024
Bring your family for an outdoor adventure! This overnight event includes campfire cooking, dinner, smores, breakfast, stories around the campfire, contests & activities, live music and more. Don’t know the first thing about camping? No problem! Our staff will be on hand to make this experience fun and easy.
WHAT: Community Campout
WHEN: 6pm, Saturday, Sept. 7 thru 10am, Sunday, Sept. 8
WHERE: North Community Park at The Jones Center
COST: $50 per campsite. Members receive 20% off; includes dinner, breakfast and smores.
AGES: All ages; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
Other details: Tents will be available to rent for $10. Campers are encouraged to bring their own tent, lawn chairs and sleeping bags.
